Easily accessible by launch and helicopter transfers from Gladstone, Heron Island is the ideal retreat which offers some of the Great Barrier Reef's best diving conditions.

Positioned just meters from the beach is the popular Heron Island Resort, offering luxury, secluded suites for that romantic holiday or rooms such as the Reef Suites and Turtle Rooms which can accommodate families.

Heron Island Resort offers many activities for the whole family from the the Kids Club to the Aqua Soul Spa and scuba diving. 

Spend your days stretched out on the sun drenched beaches or for those feeling a little more adventurous there is island walks, reef walks, snorkeling lessons, turtle viewing (in season), fishing, guided glass boat tours and scenic flights to name just a few.

Accommodation

Choose from five accommodation styles suitable for both couples such as the Wistari Suite, and Reef Suites which are perfect for families. Each room features either a balcony or patio, tea/coffee making facilities, a hair dryer, iron and ironing board, ceiling fan, beach towels, refrigerator, clock radio, umbrellas, extra pillows and blankets. 

The Heron Beachside, Wistari, Point Suites and the Beach House also offer guests bath robes, a selection of magazines, CD player and a coffee plunger. The Beach House, Wistari and Point Suites also offer air conditioning and an evening turndown service (not available in the Heron Suite).

Dining

Heron Island Resort offers a selection of gourmet meals for guests to enjoy throughout the day. The Pandanus Lounge and Baillie's Bar offers a cocktail bar, outdoor terrace area, entertainment lounge and dance floor. Open from 10am to midnight.

Enjoy a sumptuous buffet breakfast, buffet lunch and three course dinner at the resort restaurant, with each meal included in your accommodation tariff. Open for breakfast from 7.30am - 9.30am, lunch is served from 12.30pm - 2.00pm & dinner is served 6.30pm - 9.00pm. Non Smoking area. Special diets catered for by prior arrangement.
