Whalesong Cruises - Hervey Bay Whale Watching

Visit Hervey Bay during August to October and marvel at the majestic humpback whale by joining a half day whale watching cruise on the stable fifteen meter catamaran, Whalesong. The mighty humpback whales migrate north every winter with their calves, escaping the icey waters of the Antarctic, and stop off in the calm waters of Hervey Bay. 

Sheltered by World Heritage Fraser Island, Hervey Bay is the ideal playground for these beautiful mammals to bring their young to play. Tail slaps, breaching, head lunges and spy hops just some of the antics the whales get up to just meters from the boat. Whalesong's purpose built vessel has been operating in Hervey Bay since 1997 and has the reputation as one of the best cruises, offering half day cruises, sumptuous breakfasts or lunches depending on which cruise you opt for, a licensed bar as well as tea and coffee through out the day.  Whalesong also caters for children with a Kids Corner including videos, toys and junior rangers activities, as well as full wheel chair facilities including ramp, toilet and access inside and out. 

Catering for only seventy passengers, Whalesong's small numbers guarantee a more intimate encounter with the spectacular humpback whales, with enclosed and open air viewing areas on both levels of the vessel allowing you plenty of access to all areas of the boat. Another special feature of Whalesong is the underwater cameras, allowing a special view of the whales underwater activities that you wouldn't normally witness from the surface. With three monitors situated through out the cabins recording the days events, Whalesong guarantee you won't miss any of the excitement.

With Whalesong Cruises offering half day cruises, you have the option of departing in the morning or afternoon.

Departs daily at 7.30am - returning at 12.00 noon
Departs daily at 1.00pm - returning at 5.00pm

Prior to the official start of the whale watching season Whalesong offers the opportunity to participate in Whale Search from 17th July.  Operating once daily and including morning tea and lunch, the cruise does not guarantee sightings but does give the opportunity to travelers who won't be in the area during the season. Please enquire for more details.
